As is well known, the sliding bearings used to support the impeller and rotor on magnetic pumps, as well as the thrust rings used to withstand axial force, rely on the transported medium for lubrication and cooling. If the circulation system malfunctions, the pump will be quickly damaged, and in severe cases, serious accidents will occur.

 

Magnetic levitation bearing is a new type of bearing that utilizes electromagnetic force to stabilize the rotor and control the axis position through a control system.

/Structural design/

 

The design of traditional magnetic pumps uses sliding bearings and shaft sleeves to support the weight of the shaft sleeve, impeller, and pump shaft. When thrust rings are used to withstand the axial thrust of the impeller, sliding bearings, shaft sleeves, and thrust rings are referred to as interchangeable parts and are key components for the service life of magnetic pumps. For a long time, although designers have continuously studied, improved, and improved the materials used for these friction pairs, no matter what material pairing is used, there is inevitably mechanical friction during high-speed operation, which limits the service life of the pump. So, only when this friction does not exist can the service life of the magnetic pump be greatly improved.

/Electromagnetic bearing/

 

The electromagnetic bearing adopts the design of repulsive electromagnetic bearings, and the body is composed of circular ferromagnetic laminations. The inner circular side wall is equipped with a displacement sensor to detect the deviation signal of the shaft sleeve; There is an interface on the surface of the outer circle, which sends the detected deviation signal of the shaft sleeve to the external control device through the interface. Considering the corrosiveness of the conveying medium, the electromagnetic bearing is arranged and packaged through a stainless steel sleeve after assembly, with a wedge surface on the outer circle to fix the electromagnetic bearing on the bearing seat of the magnetic pump.

 

 

/Permanent magnet shaft sleeve/

 

The permanent magnet shaft sleeve is made of a ring shaped strong magnetic permanent magnet material neodymium iron boron, which is radially magnetized and mounted on a stainless steel permanent magnet shaft sleeve seat. After assembly, its outer circle is encapsulated through a sleeve. This component is installed on the pump shaft and transmits power through a key located on the pump shaft to synchronize its rotation with the pump shaft. After final assembly, there is a radial gap of 1-1.5mm between the electromagnetic bearing and the permanent magnet shaft sleeve. Based on the principle of isotropic repulsion, the high-speed rotating pump shaft is suspended in a set position using the repulsive force of its surface magnetic field, and monitored through an external controller. The circulating system inside the pump is only used to remove eddy current heat from the metal isolation sleeve.

 

 

/Permanent magnet thrust ring/

 

Traditional designs use thrust rings to balance the axial force generated by the impeller on a magnetic pump. The thrust ring on the magnetic levitation magnetic pump is a permanent magnet thrust ring structure, which is composed of a strong permanent magnet material neodymium iron boron that is radially magnetized and embedded on a stainless steel seat. After assembly, its surface is then packaged as a whole through a circular stainless steel sleeve. There is a gap of 1.5mm between the permanent magnet thrust ring and the electromagnetic bearing.
